Mobility Solutions Platform
 

At the heart of the Jentro solution is the mobility platform - a robust enterprise-class and telco-grade platform for integration with key location-based components such as the GIS backend, content aggregation, mobile advertising, voice services, companion websites and administrative services.

Content Proxy

As the primary component of our platform, the content proxy enables Jentro to add a wide variety of compelling, unique or utilitarian applications and content feeds to the platform. API interfaces tie the applications into the servers and allow the ability to “plug” and “unplug” content such as local search, gas/fuel prices and weather applications as well as photo blogging and friends finders. Jentro is the only company with a provider agnostic content service. This means that customers can choose who they want to work with for each major component of the solution. For instance, if you are a mobile operator and have an existing relationship with a “yellow pages” directory service, Jentro can use your data. Otherwise, we can offer directory services which we have already formed a partnership with for local search.

GIS Backend

Jentro partners with market leaders like NAVTEQ to provide digitized maps and integrated traffic data to feed our partner’s GIS backend to deliver a market-leading real-time navigation solution and maps on multiple mobile devices. Jentro also provides its own AGPS reference network in Europe and North America that is phone-independent and provides an average time to first fix of less than 10 seconds.

Mobile Advertising Infrastructure

A complete advertising proxy is incorporated into the Jentro platform enabling customers to download a free or subsidized navigation application and/or any other services paid for through mobile advertising. Jentro provides complete integration from the advertising server to the end consumer. The advertising model enriches the navigation experience with relevant location-focused ads. With this infrastructure, we can seemlessly connect to third-party ad servers. The system operates as an intelligent connector, requesting targeted text, visual, audio and video advertisement by providing context anonymized user profiles. Several alternative business models are available, including:

  • CPL (Cost per lead)
  • CPA (Cost per action)

Voice Services

Jentro’s platform incorporates the latest advancements in voice technology, enabling services from the use of text-to-speech (TTS) to interactive voice response (IVR) services for automated account set up and updates, automated speech recognition (ASR) to verbally speaking street names and commands for such activities as local search.

Companion Website

A primary key to a complete user experience is the ability to link Jentro’s platform technology into a personal computer’s web browser and/or desktop application. This link provides the consumer access to their personal data from virtually anywhere they are connected, allowing for pre-trip planning tools such as synchronization of contacts, sending addresses to mobile devices and post-trip tools such as track and trace functionality, account management, the ability to add/change services and recharge a pre-paid wallet.

Administrative Services

Jentro also offers a full suite of administrative services within the platform including user profiling, full service customer care and advanced billing. Advanced billing is an important feature for all users in the platform value chain. Jentro’s platform offers a flexible and comprehensive billing infrastructure which allows for a wide variety of billing options (pre-paid wallet, post-paid and transactional) and payment methods (credit card, debit card, bank transfer, operator billing and voucher).
